The Tales of The Green Butterfly

28 May

Green Butterfly is afraid to fly during the day. When she was little, there was a scary monster who was running around during nice weather. The monster used to yell loudly while running with its net-hand. Good thing it didn’t fly. Nevertheless Green Butterfly had to do her best not to get caught in his net. This monster never got tired chasing after fresh flesh.

Until the most thrilling night in Green Butterfly’s life suddenly came . The night when she knew the monster was sleeping and wasn’t running around anymore. The night when she decided to leave the place where she was. To move to a safer place. A place without fear.

She flew as quiet as she could. She didn’t want to provoke the monster. She wouldn’t give it any reason to end her life. She kept flying and looking behind. She was afraid not to be followed. She was so nervous. Her heart was pounding so hard. She was so excited to move to her new place, so eager to flip her wings fast. But her mind told her to keep calm and be more quiet than the moonlit landscape. So that nobody would realize her great escape.

She never knows how far she had flown. All she knows now is that she’s safe in her new place. But something has changed: now she’s always afraid to fly during the day, especially on a beautiful day. She prefers to stay somewhere hidden and dark, then wait until the sun sets. Nice weather and warm sunshine always remind her of the scary monster who used to chase after her everywhere she went.

She might have left what she had dreaded: the monster. But she can’t get rid of her own fear. Her life now is not more than a runaway. But she’s ok with that. All she needs to do is to avoid the sunlight. And the memory of the monster will not haunt her new nice life.

To be continued.
